My Work:
Lynne's practice has developed over thirty plus years and has developed as a result of
different creative journeys (painting, textiles, art jewellery, ceramics, storytelling, workshops and installation).
In 2017 thanks to 'Cultivator Cornwall' Lynne was given the amazing opportunity to both
attend a weeks stone setting course at the K2 Jewellery Academy in London
(run by Kelvin J Birk Katrin Spranger)
along with spending a year of being mentored by the very amazing Zoe Robertson.
As a result of these wonderful experiences Lynne's work developed and expanded into her current practice ...

There are two distinct yet totally entwined strands to Lynne's creative practice ...
both are predominantly large and sculptural...
'Wearable Art Jewellery' along with a more recent love affair with Porcelain paperClay.
Porcelain paperClay is a relatively new material for Lynne and has found its' way into both
her Wearable Art Jewellery creations along with her unique sculptural ceramics.
Both share a commonality of inventive mark-making and are as ever inspired by the same elements of
peeling paint, textures, marks, erosion and rusting metal that drives her practice.

Poetic rAmblings & stories of making:
In 2018 I discovered how much I like storytelling and rambling on about what I make and what I think ....
(click the buttons if you want to read more of what I rambled on about !!)
(click the buttons if you want to read more of what I rambled on about !!)
I'm not saying that it the best poetry in the world ...
or is it even poetry ? ... I'm not quite sure !! But I love to just type organically ... like when I make (in my organic way with my materials being the main stars of the show) Not really having an idea as to what is going to come out of my head (like now) in order to explain and share what I am thinking and what I am trying to do with my creations. I love letting my fingers guide me ... my subconscious brain has time to fly free and go wherever it wants to. it is calming ... it is relaxing ... And like my works that I create it goes on a journey until at some point that is it ... we have reached the end. Then it is time to rearrange and clear up the journey that we have just been on... time to give it a shape and arrange it so that it is not total gibberdygook (oops ... !! gobbledygook) and so that it has sort of has some sort of story to tell. But even if not ... then I don't really mind ... as the joy was in the making of it. |
