(I love a challenge and I can pretty much make anything into a piece of 'wearable art' !!)

I will then get in touch with all winners at the beginning of the next week to discuss their prize.
so I hope you enjoy looking at all my creations and
Good Luck !! xxx
ps. if it's any consolation and you don't happen to win you could always ask
Father Christmas to come and visit me or my pages !!!!
(sorry I couldn't resist and the furry 4 footed elves were hassling me to plug their work !!) xxxx
pps. Its now 5 sleeps to drawing the winners out of my very warm woolly hat (I now know why sheep are so hardy - real wool is SO hot that it boils your head most of the time !!!!)
SO I thought I'd just post up of some of my newest pieces so you can see again what I and the furry footed ones often create in our very sparkly cave -
However - do not fear - whatever I make for you will be something that totally suits you, you totally love and that you will totally want to wear it all of the time; even when taking a bath !! (it may be worth removing your prize however as I'm not sure it will be compatible with your rubber ducky's and your soap on a rope !!
So loads of luck if you decide to enter and remember - if you happen not to be a winner then why not pop along to the 'Art House Christmas Art and Crafts Party' in Falmouth next weekend (1st to 3rd Dec) where you can show Santa what he / she could possibly buy for you xx
(details on my Diary page or via Facebook).
Hey hello lovelies - its all a bit grey and mizzly on this Monday in Cornwall land - but we, the furbabies and I have King's 'Love and Pride' on repeat at full volume and are sitting in a very colourful sparkly 'Big Spotty Dog Studio' so life doesn't get much better really !!!!
We are all trying to stay seated and on-task blogging as opposed to dancing like loons so wish us luck - this could take some time
(oh no Ricky Martin has been selected by the furbabies - damn their fluffy disco paws - we are doomed !!
So back to business !!
what have we been up to and what is to come
(I hear you all say).
So it's currently very creatively exciting as we have started a new line of work - the new direction is somewhat crazy mad brooches (and as ever some beautiful beaded ones too)
We are once more taking part in the Art House Christmas event (details to follow soon). This is where they will be unveiled and available to purchase with your pennies but to give you a little glimpse / taster here are 2 examples - (better photos to follow at some point in the future) but here you go:
'Mr Eagle Teeth'
What happened to my special function eagle eyes ?? - never mind I am still gorgeous !!
action man head, false teeth (never worn), birthday foliage from the lovely Phoenix, beaded felted pompoms and various other beautiful re-purposed beads.
'Polka Dot Sea Star'
Round rubber ring found on Maenporth beach by the furry footed helpers, strips and spots chopped from a fizzy water bottle, beaded felted pompoms and various other beautiful re-purposed beads.
At the beginning of October the wonderful Penwith Gallery in St Ives started exhibiting my work in their gallery:
Home of the Penwith Society of Arts, the gallery is an amazingly beautiful space right in the heart of St Ives with quite a few galleries and workshops surrounding it so well worth a visit.

well actually that' a lie !!!!
(teehee - sorry !!)
So the furbabies and I are now on 'youtube' !! - so if you are not yet tired of me 'whittling on' and want to watch both my life, that of the furbabies and what we all get up to, then have a sneaky peek at my new youtube channel:
Youtube seems to be an interesting new adventure (and one I'm still getting to grips with !!)
but if nothing else you can enjoy the amazingly wonderful free music I keep finding to add so much more to each clip !!!
(below are 3 offerings from the growing number of videos currently available on my channel)
The music on this one I feel is especially apt !!!
So there you go - that is me done - I leave you with 2 particularly wonderful photos from our recent sailing trip (that we are actually still on as I am now commuting daily from a very beautiful and stunning part of the Helford river for a few weeks.
As you can see the 'Big Spotty Dog Studio' friends take sailing attire very seriously !!!.
Thanks loads if you have got this far in the blog and catch you next time xxxx
Sailing with these 2 Salty Sea Dog 'Loons';
what could go wrong ??? !!!!
At least one of us looks and acts like a proper sailor !!
ps. Don't forget !!!! - more videos of sailing and general 'Big Spotty Dog' mayhem are now on my youtube channel if I've left you wanting more !!!! xxx
SO - has anyone noticed that summer has arrived ?? or are you all wrapped up in coats and hiding under brollies ?? !!
Well - in true british style the 'Big Spotty Dog Studio' has carried on regardless of the 'wet sunshine', and created some new work
we even braved the mud and ran up-cycled jewellery workshops at Port Eliot which were a lot of fun - but that's possibly a story for another day !!
Where was I ?? - oh yes - new work.
Hmmmmmm we have been itching to make bigger and more what I class as 'wearable-art' pieces for some time now - so we thought - why not.
AND IT'S SO MUCH FUN !!!!!
so much fun that we can't go back !!!!
'Angler Fish and his Chinese Friend'
Let me introduce you to Alan.
Poor Alan had a dodgy eye - so dodgy that it wasn't even attached - the furry footed ones helped to make him better (with help from 'sparklylynne') performed eye surgery (though not with a laser as they can't be trusted) and fixed him - he can now see.
He is joined by his green friend who brought with him a felted rope plus other treasures.
I love stones. I especially love stones that have rainbows in them.
I love stones so much that actually this one will never leave the 'Big Spotty Dog Studio'
(apart from being around my neck !!)
It isn't actually as heavy to wear as it looks - well actually it is - but you sort of get used to it.
You just have to be careful when leaning forward to clean you teeth otherwise your very expensive designer basin (that probably costs more than your whole boat !!) is likely to be in pieces
and worse still the necklace might break !!.
We are VERY pleased with this one.
The furry footed helpers would also like access to this one as the naturally shed deer horn seems to be sending them potty - which brings me on to...............
'Horn - my doggies love you but they can not have you' !!
This was originally for the furry footed ones - but they ain't getting it - this also will never leave me - hmmmmmmmm .... there seems to be a common trend developing - which is strange for a vegan !!
'Secret Beatle Head'
So this one - Ms Blonde Princess - she wasn't bought for my doggy workforce - she was however saved (stolen) from a doggy who belongs to the sculptor from the studio next door.
I am SO sorry doggy - honest !! - however she wasn't looking quite so glamorous when I saved her and washed off the mud and chewings !!
This one is a lot of fun - I love the tea strainer submarine -
(rubbish at staining tea but great at being a feature).
You will also never leave me !!!! - hmmmmmm there could be a problem here if I ever want to make any money !!
'Golden Buddha Seed Head'
I'm really pleased with this one - especially how it looks in this photo.
You wouldn't think that the fake flower head in the forefront was something that I bought about 25 years ago !!
(or maybe you would !!!!)
'Scilly Corals and Float'
Hmmmmmm - well what can we say here !! oooooh yes !!
This marks a new set of skills that are going to be put to good use as soon as life will let me get back into the studio !!
I learnt how to solder - wooohooooo - which is very very exciting !!!!
it now means that potentially there is no limit on what I can put into my wearable sculptures
(I would have added within reason but I have a feeling that that doesn't apply) !!
So the very large lump of coral (that looks like a brain !!!) is my first attempt at this new way of working (thank you 'Jewellery Making Cornwall' for teaching me)
It was a present so long ago that I cant even remember who gave it to me.
The other pieces of coral and the dried pieces of seaweed (that look like wood) were collected when I last went with my band on tour to the Isles of Scilly.
The float was found by the wheelie bin by my boat (home).
'Becky's Crystalised Shell'
More presents and obsessive charity shop buys, things collected and found !!
'Blue Robot and his Rubbery friend Mr Polar Bear'
Hmmmmmmmm......... where to start !!.
So poor Blue Robot - he was also a casualty.
Unlike Mr Angler Fish (who the furry ones were able to perform surgery on and fix) Mr Robot was actually missing his whole arm - his clockwork mechanics are also de-funkt.
He was therefore donated to the 'Big Spotty Dog Studio' to be given a new lease of life
(thank you Omaras Antiques for giving him to us to save).
As you can see he is definitely going to be living a newer happier life with his lovely blue friend.
'Silk Worms and Little Birdies'
Almost there - cocoons from an ex-student, brooch from a charity shop and everything else - business as usual !!
My final offering is this little lovely - created on a particularly wet summers day in Cornwall !!
Both the Flamingo and Little Yellow Rubber Ducky first started life as fairy lights.
They are now having a lot more fun out and about around various peoples necks and will be winging their way into my etsy shop soon.
'A Furry Helper - helping with my photo shoot' !!
So there you go - that's it for now.
As you can see we have been having lots of fun
and as you can see from the last pic - my helpers are as ever very helpful !!
All the best till next time - enjoy the sun and ciao xxx

SO - ciao for now bloggy friends - I'm now back in the blogging world so I'll talk to you all soon,
and just to end - this is what a few people have said via the sparklylynne FB page xxxxx
Mara Ivermee reviewed sparklylynne — 5 star
April 7 · Cheerful, comfy, amazing drinks and eats, and the opportunity to make something really amazing - Thursdays in April never had it so good! xFancy
Helen Banthorpe reviewed sparklylynne — 5 star
April 6 ·
I had a very enjoyable evening tonight at the recycled jewellery workshop and under Lynne's tuition I made a beautiful necklace. I wish I lived nearer so I could come back every week.
PS. definitely finally !!!! - here is our 'big spottydog studio' Friday work experience girl - we have a feeling she may return !! www.facebook.com/teamtoobs/
oooooooh hello !! hey thanks so much if you have popped back to visit since last weeks 'bloggy ramblings' and if this is your first visit to my blog ..... well ....good luck sticking with us for the next however many paragraphs this ends up as being !!
So I thought I'd give your eyes a feast of fabulous fantastical colour this week !! - you may have gathered that colour is something close to my heart, as is my love of whatever materials I am using to be creative - and for some time now this has been beautifully sparkly beads !!
SO, what do I love about beads so much ??
They look like sweeties, they have bubbles in them, they are bright, they look like jewels, you can loose yourself in the sorting of them.
SO, where do my materials come from ??
what are my 'bead-y morals' ??
I made the decision some time ago not to buy beads from the internet or bead shops, (many beads / stones are not mined or made ethically - but that is a whole new bead-y ball game).
All of my beads now come from charity shops (which I obsessively trawl - I have just spotted some wonderful ones in Penzance; so a trip is planned !!) gifts from friends (who realise I am obsessed) or previous necklaces (that I previously obsessively and indulgently bought) - hmmmmm there seems to be a bit of repetition - but no deviation - as of yet !!
From ugly necklaces to a beautiful box of jewels !!
SO, what materials are my works of art made from' ??
I absolutely love glass; it shines in the light, it sparkles in the sun, it has amazing bubbles that you can loose your self in, it's totally FAB
Coral, pearls, stones, shells, dried seaweed, interesting wood - basically- if I can get a wire through it or glue it then I can make it into a necklace !! (although I am starting to try to avoid glue seeing as wot it is an eco-nasty !!
So although I hate it, I also love it - plastic in all of it's different forms can be SO wonderful and SO beautiful. I guess it is going to be hanging around a lot longer than me so the more we re-use what has already been made and is floating about in our seas, lying on our beaches and hiding in our cupboards, then the better. Maybe we are playing our part - (however small) by not adding to that mountain of landfill that is clogging up our world.
SO plastic - love it or hate it - it's here to stay (for a bit !!)
So really - whatever else is left !!!! - felt, fabric;
A few months ago I discovered Polymorph - (the bright pink thing in the photo below) - a totally amazing eco-friendly material that melts in boiling water, hardens again when cool and is totally bio-degradable (tho not when you think it's a good idea to paint it with fluorescent pink acrylic paint !! grrrrrrrrr - won't do that again !!)
It should technically be in the plastics section but hey ho - it looks pretty at this point in the blog !!!)
And so - sparkly blog readers - we ALMOST come to the end !!!!;
Nicking other artist's stuff !!!!;
I have been really lucky to have come across some very amazing jewellers and artists, whose work is amazing and they are amazing as they don't mind me using some of their pieces, bling-ing them up and combining them with some of my beautiful bead-y finds.
However !!! I normally end up loving the finished product so much that I can't bear to part with it !!!!! - here are some recent ones with links - and thank you ladies (if you're reading this) xxxx
'Becky's Pause Button';
Focal piece: Copper and Silver press formed pendent by
'Linds's Styles-ish Pompoms';
Focal piece: Glazed Ceramic Tester by Linda Styles
Gorgeous Lampwork beads made by Caroline Smith who owns 'Studio Thirteen'

SO thanks again for tuning in again to my musings and wafflings !!! I hope you have enjoyed your little tour around my beautiful colourful bead-y world.
Please tune in next week for more of my blogg-y ramblings - BUT !! I really can't leave you without posting the obligatory weekly video. hmmmmmmmmm which way up will we be this week ??!! (if you are confused at my joy - just have a look at previous blogs starting with 'Getting to grips with this blogg-y thing' posted on the 3rd of March !!
Ciao and enjoy !!! - here we go !!!! xxxx
Ps the movie is of our last Kernow Collie meet; look us up on Facebook if you fancy joining in with one of our monthly bounces (all collies and honorary collies are welcome !!) I have posted it to remind all you lovely people (along with myself as I'm rubbish) - that we all need to spend time having fun away from our work and gadgets - apart from the odd ball wanger !!!!!
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR !!!!!! so this week the movie won't even load !!! - NO MORE MOVIES !!!!!!!
SO here is the link address if you would like to watch what I have tried but failed to share with you - www.facebook.com/pg/KernowCollies/videos/
that's it I'm off to wang a ball or 2 xxxxxxxxxxxx
hey - hello from the world of the sparkly one !! xx
So, this week I thought I'd share with you where it is that all this sparkly spangly bling is created and why this place; 'Big Spotty Dog Studio' is so important to me.
Last November my 3 furry footed ones and I upped sticks from my very much loved studio of 10 years to move to what was originally a blacksmiths smithy. 'Little Trolvis Quarry' (apparently and amazingly it as also once a doggy pamper parlour !!!!) - thank you universe !!!
WE LOVE our new creative hub !!!! 'The Big Spotty Dog Studio' is a very chilled out (often slightly chilly) colourful beautiful place. You may have gathered that colour is important to us here at 'sparklylynne' HQ. We HAVE to have a beautiful environment and we find it impossible to create in somewhere that is not fabulous.
Colour, pattern, texture, bubbles in glass, shapes that plants make, odd things that are just quirky, charity shop finds, cactus, odd weird children's toys, sparkly stuff and other peoples art.
Things that we find when out on walks - at special times, an empty crab shell found when walking with doggies on a wedding anniversary - all these things have to be around when I create. They are important to take inspiration from - to make me happy. And !! have I mentioned the lighting !!!!!!!! - it's fairy lights everywhere !! Plus the raging wood burner is a bit lovely too !!!
So 'Little Trolvis Quarry' is famous - apparently - it's famous for granite - massive blocks of the stuff. I am so pleased to be up there - a real little hidden gem - a set of amazingly helpful and talented people.
As I am a bit of a creative obsessive I spend as many hours as I can in 'The Big Spotty Dog Studio' and so before moving to Longdowns never really saw many of my neighbours. I thought it was because I came home late but actually it's because they all seem to be up working hard in workshops in the same quarry as my studio !!!!
Here you go - a little glimpse of what is outside my door. I'm looking forward to warmer weather:
Right - that's me done for another week. Just a couple of things - I am now stuck with everything being called 'The Big Spotty Dog Studio'; it is a VERY long and tortuous tale !!!!! SO !!!!!! we now have an open and working etsy shop called 'bigspottydogstudio' so please do click on the button to take a peek if you would like to see more:
We also have a facebook page: 'The Big Spotty Dog Studio' - in all the computer-ing confusion we set it up and then were going to get rid of it. Then the furry footed ones insisted that they liked it so it's been saved at the 11th hour !! Again have a peek if you are interested:
AND FINALLY !!!!!! so ridiculous have my 2 previous video attempts been that I did not feel able to leave you without posting this weeks attempt !!!! - it's so exciting as to what way up we will be this time !!!
So I leave you with the dog who's fault it is that my shop and studio are called 'The Big Spotty Dog Studio' - (answers on a postcard as to why you think we reached that decision)
Hey hello again !!! - here I am again !!!! - so !!!! I did claim last week that I was going to post at 7.01pm every Thursday !!!!! - I had it all planned for this week - I was going to give you lots of lovely colourful sparkly photos of my lovely colourful sparkly studio (The Big Spotty Dog Studio, Little Trolvis Quarry, Longdowns) and include some of the Quarry's really interesting history (amongst other things my studio was once was a dog pamper parlour !!!!!! - omg how the universe works !!!!! )
I had the best intentions in the world !!!! - this was me getting to grips with being a good social media person !!!!!! - giving you amusing interesting posts about me and where I make my bling !!!!! (I look up as I write this and see that my computer tells me it is 7.36pm !!!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !!!!!)
Is this just me ?? !!!!! or has anyone else out there had similar experiences with blogs when they start out ????? !!!! - please tell me it gets easier ??!!!!! grrrrrrrrr !!!!!!
Blogging lesson learnt number 35 !!! - draft out your blog in good time !!!! - not an hour before it is meant to go live !!!!!! grrrrrrrrrrr !!!!! also, although I do have loads of lovely colourful sparkly photos for you of my lovely colourful sparkly studio, there are over 50 !!!!!! - blogging lesson number 36 - be selective with your photos, but not at the moment when your blog is meant to be live !!!! grrrrrrrrr !!!!
The good news is that I am enrolled on a social media course with the lovely DPN people in Penzance for the next 4 weeks; I am going to be such a whizz and guru at social media by the end of it that;
A. hopefully I won't annoy you too much as I will learn how to blog with purpose and not lose people by my inept ramblings !!!!! and B. hmmmmm I'm not sure what B is but I am sure there is a whole alphabet out there that I should embrace - but maybe not now you will be relieved to hear !!!!!
So at the risk of totally sending you all to sleep - I am going to leave you guys now. Once more I think I have rambled / blogged about how rubbish I am at blogs !!! - hey ho at least I am consistent - my mission this next week (apart from actually making something in said studio and getting my head out of this computer !!!!!) is to manage to blog on time next week and show you all my studio, give you a glimpse as to where it is that I make my lovely beautiful up-cycled jewellery. Talk to you about how important my lovely colourful sparkly studio is to my creative process and how happy it makes my head !!!
BUT !! if you really can't wait that long !!!!! and would like to get more of an idea as to who I am, what I do and what fires me to create; then take a peek at my instagram. Currently I am really enjoying the #marchmeetthemaker challenge - I've managed most days (ooooops still need to do today - which is relax - don't think social media will be the thing I choose !!!!) but it's definitely fun and worth a peek - there are loads of us mainly independent makers doing said challenge and it really is inspiring to see how other people work and what turns them on in their world of creativity xx
So finally !!!! I will however leave you a little teasing glimpse of my studio - this is something I filmed last November (before the 'chicken's running free' ban came into force) and I managed to tempt a couple of the quarry's feathery residents to visit me. I had literally just moved into 'The Big Spotty Dog Studio' and was finally un-packed.
I hope you enjoy this little snippet and hopefully they won't be upside down this time !!!!!!! (see last weeks post of my gravity defying furry helpers !!!)
Ciao for now and see you at the slightly later time of 6pm next Friday (I learnt today that Fridays are better for blogging - oooooh get me, Mrs Social Media Guru !!!) xxxxxx
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!! they are on their side this time - that's it I'm going home to my poor man-flu hubby !!!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr - teehee !!!!! xxxxxxxxxx
Apart from deleting my first lovely persons comment and then learning how to un-delete it (sorry lovely Pip Carlton Barnes !!) what have I learnt in less than 24hrs about the world of blog ??!! - I've learnt that I need to blog regularly but not bombard you guys !! - so if all goes to plan - and those furry ones keep us all on track, I plan to chat away - oooops blog !! once a week. I think a Thursday may be a good blog day !!, so after this first proper blog post I'll blog lyrical to you later this week (every Thursday 7.01 pm - how organised am I !!)
I'm planning to blog on to you about all things that I love and what inspires me to make things and be me and do what I do - my sparkly things, my wonderfully eclectic colourful sparkly studio, my furry footed helpers (who are unfortunately more sandy and muddy than sparkly most of the time !!) the amazing 98yr old wooden Lugger sailing boat that I live on with my (long suffering and very talented) hubby Mr Yan Speake - what turns me on in the world of creativity, why and how I do what I do, the people I meet and the adventures I have.
Hmmmmmm there will probably be more but that will do to start with (I do promise that all of that list will not be in the first blog ) !!!
If you have got as far as looking at my web site I hope you like what you see - I'm in the process of up-loading a new collection of sparkly up-cycled bling into my new 'store' page over the next couple of days (photos are on facebook if you would like a sneaky peek !!! https://www.facebook.com/thebigspottydogstudio)
OOOOOOOOH I think I need to stop now as I have a feeling that this may be a ramble more than a blog - but hey ho - maybe this is what blogging is - maybe it isn't - who knows, but I'm still feeling sparkly so there we go !!!
Catch you Thursday guys - please feel free to spread the word about my ramblings - oooops - Blog - and enjoy the rest of your Sunday !!
I'm attaching a memory from 2 years ago - princess Marley Moo and Bailey the bold (and no longer bald) !!
HMMMMMMMMMMMM !!!!!! just when you thought all was well with your blog you discover that for some bizarre reason your video is up-side down !!!!!. THAT is so ridiculous that I will leave it !! wooohooooo furry footed helpers defy gravity - maybe I should change my blog title - grrrrrrrrrrr !! xxx
oooooooh the world of blogging - we at the Big Spotty Dog Studio have finally arrived - good job the 3 furry footed helpers are here to tell me what to do - (just wish they had thumbs so they could type). Comments, tips and things you'd like us to wax lyrical about are very welcome. Blog you soon once we work out how to do this new blog thingy !!!
