Does Beauty have to be attached to something that is whole ?
something that is perfect ?
something that is not broken ?
Is something less beautiful if it is cracked ?
Is something not beautiful if it has parts missing ?
Things that are broken are unique
Things that are broken can be beautiful.
Many things that are perfect are boring
and
things that are boringly perfect can be copied.
Why do we aspire to often un-achievable sets of beauty standards ?
Is it because society tells us this is how things are ?
Is it because society conditions us to think in this way ?
The cracks and the imperfections have stories
They happened because of things that happened to them
They happened and these happenings make up their story
These stories are what makes them interesting
These stories are what makes them individual.
No other crack will ever have the same story to tell.
No other crack will ever be the same
Stories are things that spark our imagination.
Stories are what holds our interest.
Stories are what makes our lives colourful.
Stories are things that give things meaning.
Stories make life interesting.
Stories make things unique.
Stories are what casts us aside from other beings and other creatures.
It is the stories of the cracks
and
it is the stories of the broken-ness ....
that makes what has been made .... unique
that makes what has been made …. interesting
You will remember what has been made in terms of it's stories
It is the stories of the broken-ness that will remain with us even when what has been made is no longer here
You will remember it's broken-ness as something that is not perfect
BUT ....
This broken-ness is what has made this thing beautiful
and
it is this beauty in broken-ness that is just as important as the thing itself that was created.
