Wearable Sculpture
'Large wearable forms which organically evolve from found & gifted treasures.
The majority of my materials are sourced from Cornish boatyards, beaches and woods where I live & walk my 3 rescue collies'

'Since my MA I have been playing with a lot of different ways of working and creating dialogue based around environmental issues and consumerism.
The word of Art Jewellery captivated and inspired me ...
A place where my abstract creations full of texture and dialogue could now be placed on the body, go on new adventures with new conversations.
At this point I owe a massive thank you to the very wonderful Dr Zoe Robertson for as a result of her mentoring I was empowered to once more use my inspiration and love of all things corroded.
From 2018 my practice became more sculptural and in most cases a little large !!'

'Ware - Wear' collection
A little bit of fun !!
I make Stuff.
Stuff you can wear ....
Stuff you can hang on your wall ....
Stuff you can put on your coffee table ....
or
wear to go shopping ....
or
disco dancing
The stuff that I make is both Jewellery and Sculpture - both to me are equal.
It is not my concern which is chosen to describe this stuff that I create ....
The critic or the audience may make that choice ....
The stuff that I make is from things that others ….
leave behind
discard
or
just do not notice.
It is stuff that I find when walking my dogs on Cornish beaches
in Cornish woods
or
in the Cornish boatyard where we live together.
The individual elements dictate the final sculptural form ....
I listen to what they tell me to do through their own language ....
A language of line, texture, colour, structure and form ....
Individual parts tell me where they want to be
who they want to be friends with
and
who they'd hate to lie beside.
These parts use a language that is common to both Jewellery and Sculpture ....
there is no difference
Whether you would wear my stuff tho ....
well ....
that ….
is a whole new conversation !!
